The business publications BILANZ, Handelszeitung, and PME, in collaboration with digitalswitzerland, have named Chris Beyeler—president of swissAI and owner and founder of BEYONDER—the “Digital Shaper 2026.” This honor is among the most prestigious recognitions for digital thought leaders in Switzerland.

Recognition for Responsible AI Development
For swissAI, the appointment of its president is a strong sign of the growing importance of responsible and practical AI development in Switzerland. Beyeler is being honored in the “AI Acrobats” category for making artificial intelligence accessible and actively promoting its application in business and society.

Making AI Accessible—With a Broad Impact
Since generative AI became widely available, Chris Beyeler has been deeply committed to sharing knowledge. With over 70 presentations, more than 150 days of training, and over 2,000 people trained directly, he is strengthening digital literacy in Switzerland. In total, his programs reach more than 10,000 people. His goal is to provide guidance in a dynamic field of technology. In doing so, he deliberately addresses both opportunities and risks and promotes a thoughtful approach to artificial intelligence.

Understanding AI as a Meaningful Tool
Chris Beyeler views AI not only as a driver of efficiency, but also as a tool that influences strategy, leadership, and corporate culture. His approach creates space for human interaction and creativity: “When AI reduces routine tasks, it creates room for more humanity,” says Beyeler.

A Bridge Between Technology, Business, and Society
Through BEYONDER, Beyeler supports companies—from SMEs to industries such as banking, insurance, and tourism—in the practical implementation of AI applications. As president of swissAI, he is building a network of approximately 300 members. Founded in 2023, the organization brings together business, politics, and society to promote acceptance of AI, alleviate fears, and encourage critical thinking.

Statement from his swissAI
“Chris Beyeler epitomizes what swissAI stands for: responsible innovation, interdisciplinary exchange, and actively shaping Switzerland’s digital future. His award confirms that we are on the right path together,” says Judith Niederberger, communications manager at swissAI.

Quote from Chris Beyeler
“I am very pleased to have been named a Digital Shaper. For me, however, the most important thing is that more people and companies in Switzerland are able to use AI competently, critically, and responsibly.”
