Shape Switzerland’s AI future: Join Hack Apertus Hack Apertus is a series of open-source hackathons designed to accelerate the adoption of Apertus, Switzerland’s open large language model (LLM). Teams develop real-world use cases and open blueprints for the sovereign and compliant use of Apertus in the public and private sectors. Phases and Dates Online Hackathon: October 1–16, 2026, remote. In-Person Hackathons: Q4 2026 – Q1 2027, in more than 6 Swiss cities (Bern, Zurich, Basel, Biel/Bienne, Lausanne, St. Gallen). Grand Finals: May 14, 2027, in St. Gallen at the University of St. Gallen / SQUARE. Who can participate? Everyone. Students, professionals, linguists, designers, developers, as well as public and private organizations. People with a technical background are just as welcome as those from other fields—interdisciplinary teams are strongly encouraged.
