About swissAI
swissAI is a national, nonprofit organization currently in the process of being established. The association does not represent the interests of providers or individual companies; rather, it brings the practical experience of users into the public debate. As a small, neutral country, Switzerland can develop its own independent AI expertise. Neutrality is a competitive advantage in this regard.
swissAI is the national, nonprofit user association for artificial intelligence in Switzerland. With over 350 members from German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland, and Ticino, swissAI brings together people and organizations that develop, research, and apply AI in practice. The focus is on those who turn technological possibilities into concrete applications and benefits. This broad base combines technical expertise with practical application experience across language and industry boundaries, making swissAI the largest and most active AI community in Switzerland.
Through ongoing dialogue, members deepen their AI knowledge, collaboratively assess new developments, and learn from the experiences and use cases of others. They can contribute their own topics and expertise to the community and the association’s work; companies also gain visibility within the Swiss AI ecosystem. Partners and sponsors gain access to this national practice network and can help shape relevant topics through dialogue.
Through this network, swissAI brings together expertise, practical experience, and shared concerns to serve as an authoritative voice on the economic, social, and political impacts of AI. The association brings the perspective of users into the public debate and political decision-making processes and advocates for responsible and innovation-friendly framework conditions. At the same time, swissAI promotes the development of AI literacy among the general public so that all segments of society can understand and take advantage of the opportunities offered by AI. After all, decisions about the future of AI should not be made without those who develop, use, and experience it on a daily basis.
swissAI connects people, fosters dialogue, shares knowledge, and drives progress toward responsible AI in Switzerland.

Switzerland is among the countries with the highest levels of AI adoption in Europe. Expertise is growing more slowly than adoption, and that is where the risk lies. Added to this is demographic change: Over the next ten years, Switzerland could face a shortage of several hundred thousand workers. AI can help bridge this gap, but only if people know how to use it effectively. That is exactly what we are working on.
